Interaction design consulting for Fortune 500 companies as well as early stage startups. Conducted ethnographic user research to understand the user's goals. Developed research-based personas to aid the design process and facilitate communication with the client stakeholders. Identified opportunities and risks of the client's planned path and, where appropriate, made strategic recommendations to alter the plan. Created design solutions to satisfy the persona's goals, while respecting the business, technical and political limitations of the client organizations. Worked with visual design colleagues to create the final, refined design. When possible worked directly with the client's developers to ensure the accurate implementation of the design. Responsible for all client presentations throughout the design process.

Responsible for the design of Vignette Application Portal (VAP) 4.0 - 7.0 (formerly Epicentric Foundation Server) and supporting applications. VAP is an enterprise-class, web-based application for developing and deploying custom portals. Worked as part of a team of software architects, engineers and product management to define the transition from a single site department-level product to a multi-site, enterprise wide platform. Responsibilities include: Information architecture development, look-and-feel definition, HTML mockup construction, icon system development and feature definition.

First full-time employee of an e-commerce consulting startup, responsible for the design of over 12 database powered, e-commerce focused web sites in less than one year. Tasks included: information architecture and navigation model development, look-and-feel definition, HTML template construction, graphic production, identity development, and client management. Also worked with software engineers to ensure that the deployment of the web sites met the client's expectations.
